Edner Cherry, Lenroy Thomas, & Joseph Elegele Back In Action On Feb 19

TKO Boxing Promotions will bring its nationally acclaimed “HOMETOWN HEROES TO WORLD CHAMPIONS” boxing series to the beautiful Gulf Coast city of Tampa, Florida on Friday, February 19th at the Ala Carte Event Pavilion. Featured at “FIGHT NIGHT AT THE PAVILION” will be numerous local fan favorites including world ranked lightweight Edner “CHERRY BOMB” Cherry, fast rising Jamaican heavyweight Lenroy “TNT” Thomas and sensational newcomer, junior welterweight Joseph Elegele..

Tickets for “FIGHT NIGHT AT THE PAVILION” presented along with Fight Night Productions and Ker’s WingHouse, starting at $20, can be purchased through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com). The Ala Carte Event Pavilion is located at 4050 Dana Shores Drive . Doors on the evening of the event will open at 7pm, with the first bell at 8pm.

Other local prospects who will see action at “FIGHT NIGHT AT THE PAVILION” include female sensation Jenna “THE COWGIRL” Shiver, middleweight Ahsandi “MR. BRIXX” Gibbs and junior middleweight Ali Tareh.

Former world title challenger Cherry, 25-6-2 (13KO’s), made a huge statement with his return to the ring on December 17th with a brutal third round stoppage of Jovann Jones at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles . Dropping down to lightweight for his return, the 27 year old Cherry used an array of devastating power shots to drop Jones three times on his way to the victory.

In September 2008, Cherry lost a very hard fought twelve round decision to welterweight world champion Timothy Bradley, a SHOWTIME televised battle from Biloxi , Mississippi .

Since losing his pro debut, Jamaican heavyweight prospect Lenroy “TNT” Thomas has won fourteen bouts in a row, eight by knockout. The 24 year old southpaw, guided by award winning trainer Dan Birmingham, has improved with each outing, most recently shutting out Andrew Greeley over six rounds on November 5th in Baltimore, Maryland at the Jonathan Ogden Foundation Benefit.

After a terrorizing run as an outstanding amateur in Florida , welterweight Joseph Elegele has won his first two starts impressively in the pro ranks. Starting off with a four round decision win over fellow amateur standout Keith Redding on November 5th, Elegele followed up with a crunching first round knockout of Juan Carlos Diaz on December 17th.

Featherweight Shiver is amongst the most popular fighters in Florida . With a record of 9-4-1 (2KO’s), the 24 year old Shiver has fought her last nine fights at the Ala Carte Event Pavilion, most recently winning a six round decision over Lucia Larcinese on May 8, 2009.

The 31 year old Gibbs, 10-1-0 (4KO’s), will be looking to get back on the winning track after losing his first professional bout on May 8th when he was stopped in the fourth round by Marcus Upshaw. Also a staple of the Ala Carte Event Pavilion, Gibbs will be fighting in his tenth bout there on February 19th.

Tareh, 7-7-4 (4KO’s), will be making his return to action after a two and half year absence. He us scheduled to face Great Britain ’s James Todd, 2-2-1 in a scheduled four round bout.
