News: Daniel Edouard; Porter vs Jordan; Lenroy Thomas; More

Daniel Edouard: I want to start off by thanking everyone who supported our effort to assist the people of Haiti. Your contributions are appreciated and they truly made a difference in people’s lives. I wasn’t able to openly communicate back to the states like I hoped I would to update people on our progress due to communication still being unavailable in the areas where we focused our assist efforts.. Still, rest assured that we worked diligently. Putting every donation to good use. We compiled a brochure that shows some of the damage of the country. The pictures are of things and places and people we personally encountered. We are distributing this brochure in an effort to increase public awareness of the country’s plight and hope that it will serve as a tool to garner more support.

As I write this letter I am preparing to board a cargo plane headed back to Haiti with more support. I wanted to finish this letter a few days ago but have been engulfed in preparing for the second trip mustering everything I could find. By the time many of you read this I will already be on the plane or possibly in Haiti.

The second trip will be more elongated. As a matter of fact I have a proposed major fight coming up and have decided to setup my training camp on the island. This will allow our team to continue our relief efforts as well as me being able to continually train. I owe a lot to the people of Haiti and equally as much to the boxing community that has shown me love and support over my career. In that spirit, again, I ask for your support. To support our effort with a donation send checks or money orders to:

or donate via the phone by calling 561-429-3586 and mentioning Haiti Relief.

We will also load some pics on our myspace today. To view them visit www.myspace.com/hspboxing or www.myspace.com/officialhaitiansensation, click on pictures and look in the Haiti Effort folder. Thanks for all your help and support.

Fight Promoter University VII Session Moved to August

After a number of requests from people wanting to attend the FPU VII session but not having enough time to coordinate travel and jobs, FPU founder Roy Englebrecht has decided to move the seventh session of this unique teaching concept to August 2-6 at the Irvine Marriott.

“Realizing that most people need to have enough lead time to plan for getting off their jobs and to take advantage of travel discounts with advance notice, I have decided to move FPU VII to August,” said Englebrecht. “I thought three months notice would be enough time for people to attend in April, but it just is not.”

This new FPU VII session will be held over Englebrecht’s Battle In The Ballroom boxing and mma show on Thursday, August 5th. His first hybrid boxing and mma Battle In The Ballroom show on February 10th was a huge success with a sellout crowd of 1,412 watching four boxing and two mma bouts.

Most, if not all of the guest speakers who had committed to speak will remain the same, as will the price of $1,499, and a netcast cost of $499. Also a Special Early Payment Discount has been added, with a $150 savings if the FPU VII payment is made in full prior to June 4th.

Interested people can find out all information for FPU VII as well as register at: www.fightpromoteruniversity.com.
