British Super-Middleweight king Paul Smith has branded rival Tony Dodson the Jellyman of boxing. After political heavyweights Peter Mandleson and David Cameron went at it last week, now it’s the turn of Britain’s best super-middleweights. The pair clash at the Liverpool Echo on Friday night with Smith’s British title on the line, live on Sky Sports 1. Since the fight was announced, insults have been flying, with Dodson latest attack claiming that Smith was boxing’s equivalent of pop star Peter Andre. But now Smith has hit back, and says Dodson will wobble under intense pressure on Friday.
“When I see Dodson at the weigh in on Thursday I fully expect his hands to be shaking,” blasted Smith..
“But it will be his legs that will turn to jelly once I land on his glass jaw on Friday night.
“Dodson has always had a problem with pressure, and I don’t expect things to change this week.
“For me, he’s the Jellyman of British boxing, always has been, always will be.
“He has got a soft centre and I will expose it on Friday.
“Dodson trembled against Carl Froch, he teetered against Tony Quigley and he will flop against me.
“His chin isn’t good enough for this level and once I land on it, he’ll be knocked him out.
“I’ll be turning up the heat on Friday, and Dodson will melt, he can’t stand the heat.
“The Echo Arena is a fantastic place for boxing, and it’s going to be like a pressure cooker on Friday night.
“That’s the kind of atmosphere I thrive in, but I know that secretly Dodson would prefer to be at home looking at his computer.”

Dodson Rips Into Smith – Calls Him The Peter Andre Of Boxing!
Tony Dodson has launched a stinging attacked on rival Paul Smith calling him a boxing glamour boy. The warring super-middleweights settle their differences on March 12 at the Liverpool Echo Arena, and Dodson says he will reclaim his British title from current holder Smith.
With the big fight only one week away, Dodson has stepped up the war of words and added that Smith thinks he’s a star like pop star Peter Andre.
“Everyone in Liverpool wants to see me win back my title and I can’t wait until March 12 when I batter that glamour boy and put the title back in the hands of real fighter,” Stormed Dodson.
“It’s okay if your a big star to strut about, but this fella lords it like he’s Peter Andre or something and it’s really winding me up, I just want to smash him in right now,”
“If I see his cheesy grin in a magazine I’ve just got to rip it to pieces and that’s what I’m going to do him on the night,”
“Since he’s won the title he thinks he’s the best thing in the super-middleweights since Joe Calzaghe and he’s got the cheek to question my heart against Tony Quigley and Carl Froch,”
