The 19 year old Caballero, promoted by TKO Boxing Promotions, made his pro debut on March 25th at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, stopping Gonzalo Nicolas in 0:49 seconds of the first round..

NOTRE DAME’S MIKE LEE SET FOR PRO BOXING DEBUT IN CHICAGO ON SATURDAY, MAY 29TH

CHICAGO, IL (May 7, 2010) Former Notre Dame Boxing Captain Mike Lee will make his professional debut against St. Louis native Keith Debow on Saturday, May 29th at the UIC Pavilion as part of the first TOP RANK LIVE event in Chicago.

Since January of this year, the 22 year old Lee has been training in Houston, Texas, under the watchful eye of excellent trainer Ronnie Shields who has guided numerous world champions including Evander Holyfield, Pernell Whitaker, Meldrick Taylor and Vernon Forrest and has most recently trained heavyweight contender Tomasz Adamek.

Said Shields about Lee’s training, “Mike’s been working very hard here in Houston. He does everything my championship level guys do, six days a week. I also have him working with our strength and conditioning coach Brian Caldwell.”

The four round light heavyweight bout between Lee and Debow will be featured on Fox Sports Net as part of the TOP RANK LIVE broadcast.

“Mike looks great, come May 29th he will look much better than a typical pro debuter. He’s very excited to come home and show everyone that he’s ready for the pro ranks” continued Shields.

In his junior year at Notre Dame, Lee was named junior captain and received Notre Dame’s Boxer of the Year Award. Lee was also named captain his senior year, becoming a three-time Bengal Bouts Champion.

After receiving a degree in finance from Notre Dame and winning the 2009 Chicago Golden Gloves, the Wheaton, Illinois native signed a promotional contract with Top Rank Incorporated.

The main event at TOP RANK LIVE will feature an outstanding ten round welterweight showdown between Mexican veterans Jesus “Renuente” Soto-Karass and Gabriel “EL Rey” Martinez.

The undercard will feature Salvador Sanchez II, in addition to Chicago’s Omar Henry, Ivan Popoca, Antonio Avila and Polish heavyweight prospect Krzystof Zimnoch.

BRONX BOMBERS RILEY AND LOPEZ ADDED TO PUNCHIN AT THE PARADISE CARD

On Friday May 14th, two of the Bronx’s most exciting up and coming prospects, Yathomas Riley (8-0, 6KO’s) and Raul Lopez (3-0-1, 3KO’s), square off against separate opponents in a professional night of boxing, promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Star Boxing, at the Paradise Theater in the Bronx. Headlining TeleFutura’s “Solo Boxeo Tecate” card will be lightweight prospect Adrien “The Problem” Broner (14-0, 11KO). The show will be the tenth installment of Star Boxing’s popular, “Punchin at the Paradise” fight series.

“Yathomas and Raul are two very talented and exciting prospects,” stated Joe DeGuardia, CEO of Star Boxing. “Both guys had very good amateur careers and are now looking to progress throughout the professional ranks. Yathomas keeps becoming more impressive and his wins have become increasingly devastating each time he steps in to the ring. The Star Boxing promoted Riley, a 2006 National Golden Gloves, and PAL Champion, is coming off a savage 2nd round TKO over Walter Foster on April 2nd. It was the third straight opponent for Riley that failed to see the third round. The light heavyweight prospect Riley is scheduled to face Puerto Rico’s Angel David Gonzalez over six rounds.

The two-time New York Golden Gloves Champion Lopez, last fought on March 12th, forcing Reinaldo Cintron to quit after a brutal first round beatdown. All three of Lopez’s wins have come by way of knockout via the first round. Lopez is scheduled to meet, fellow unbeaten prospect Daniel Aquino (3-0). The bout is scheduled for four rounds in the bantamweight division.
