Montreal, Monday May 17th 2010 – With under 2 weeks to go before their eagerly anticipated May 28th showdown at the Pepsi Colisee in Quebec City, Eric Lucas (39-7-3, 15 KO) and Librado Andrade (28-3-0, 21 KO) are adding the finishing touches to their training before settling their differences in the ring. InterBox has scheduled a full week of activities in Quebec City for the week of the boxing Gala. Lucas and Andrade will participate in a public training session on Tuesday, May 25th from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Place Laurier Mall in Quebec City. Quebec boxers Pier-Olivier Cote, Mikael Zewski and Eric Martel-Bahoeli are also scheduled to participate..
The Official Press Conference will be held on Wednesday, May 26th at the Chateau Bonne entente hotel at 11 AM. This conference will be presented by InterBox in collaboration with Golden Boy Promotions.
The Official Weigh-In will take place at Le Maurice night club (on the Terrace) on Thursday, May 27th at 5 PM. This event will be open to the public and fans will be able to see their favorite boxers in person.
St-Juste added to the boxing card: 7 fights planned for May 28th
InterBox fighter Renan St-Juste (21-1-1, 14 KO) will box on the May 28th card against American Marcus Ellington Upshaw (12-4-1, 6 KO). This bout will be the main supporting bout to the Lucas vs Andrade fight, and will be broadcast live on ESPN2’s Friday Night Fights.
Ranked #7 in the World at Middleweight for the WBA, the Repentigny, Quebec boxer St-Juste will dispute his second bout in less than 6 weeks. On April 17th, the NABA and WBC Continental of Americas champion scored a spectacular 9th round knock-out of former Middleweight contender Dionisio Miranda from Colombia.
Pier-Olivier Cote (11-0-0, 7 KO) changed opponents and will now face off against Hugo Armenta (11-5-0, 7 KO) from Mexico. The Canadian champion will be looking to make an impression this fight as he is the scheduled swing bout for the ESPN televised portion of the card.
Benoit Gaudet (21-2-0, 8 KO) is training very hard and has seen his opponent change as well. Gaudet will now be facing KO-savvy Pipino Cuevas Jr. (13-4-0, 11 KO) in a bout scheduled for 10 rounds in the Super Featherweight division. An impressive victory should allow Gaudet to move up the world rankings.

YUSAF “MACK ATTACK” MACK RETURNS ON FRIDAY NIGHT JUNE 4TH AT THE LEGENDARY BLUE HORIZON
PHILADELPHIA (May 14, 2010)—World ranked Light Heavyweight Yusaf “Mack Attack” Mack will make his return to Philadelphia when he headlines a big night of boxing on Friday night June 4th at The Legendary Blue Horizon.
The card is promoted by Blue Horizon Boxing Promotions Inc. and SAM Promotions.
The night will also be a celebration of promoter Vernoca Michael’s 65th birthday
Mack, of Philadelphia has a record of 28-3-2 with seventeen knockouts and is ranked number eleven in the world by the IBF.
Mack will be looking to get back in the win column and climb back up the rankings after his sixth round stoppage defeat to former world champion Glen Johnson on February 5th in Miami.
That fight was an IBF elimination bout and a win would have catapulted Mack into a world title opportunity with reigning champion Tavoris Cloud.
Before that setback, Mack had won five consecutive bouts which included an impressive decision over the highly regarded Chris Henry on February 6th, 2009.
This will be Mack’s first appearance in Philadelphia since September 26th, 2008 when Mack took out Omar Pittman at the Philadelphia Armory.
Mack is undefeated at The Legendary Blue Horizon (7-0, 4 KO’s) and in his last appearance at “The Blue” Mack won the USBA Super Middleweight title with an eighth round stoppage over Shannon Miller.
Mack’s opponent will be announced shortly.
In the eight round co-feature, rising Featherweight, Coy “Pretty Boy” Evans will take on an opponent to be named.
Evans of Philadelphia has a record of 8-0-1 with two knockouts and is quickly becoming one of the hottest fighters in the city.
After not recording a stopping his first six bouts, Evans has scored explosive knockouts in two of his last three outing which includes his most recent outing when Evans annihilated Morris Chule in three rounds on April 9th at The Arena in Philadelphia.
An exciting undercard has been assembled and it will feature the very popular ladies Jr. Middleweight, Olivia “The Great” Fonseca (3-2-2, 2 KO’s) of Philadelphia as she will battle Kali Reis (2-0, 1 KO) of Providence, Rhode Island in a scheduled four round bout.
John Barry of Philadelphia will be making his pro debut when he takes on George Perez (0-1-1) of Newark, NJ in a four round Light Heavyweight bout.
Good looking Jr. Middleweight prospect Ismael Garcia (1-0) of Milville, NJ will take on debuting Jeremy Woods of Ohio in a four round bout.
Coming off a successful pro debut, Keenan Smith (1-0) of Philadelphia will take on Dwayne Martin (2-1, 1 KO) of Laurel, Maryland in a four round Super Featherweight bout.

MERCITO “NO MERCY” GESTA READY FOR NEXT STEP
Undefeated Filipino lightweight sensation Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta (17-0-1, 7KO) of takes his first step towards a world title as he faces off against KO artist Oscar “El Estudiante” Meza (19-3, 17KO) for the vacant WBO Americas lightweight title on June 4th at the Micosukee Indian Gaming Resort in Miami, Florida. The twelve round championship fight will be broadcast live in the U.S. on Telemundo and is presented by Tuto Zabala Jr’s All Star Boxing Inc., The Next Generation. The winner of the bout is guaranteed a top twelve ranking by the WBO. The fight will mark Gesta’s televised main event debut.
“This fight is one that I have been wanting, a championship fight, event though it is a small championship,” the 22-year-old Gesta stated. “This is a start for a big title so I am very happy for this opportunity.
“This fight means a lot to Mercito. It’s an opportunity to step up to the next level and take a step closer to a world title,” Vince Parra, Gesta’s co-manager, added. “He is excited, motivated and ready to dominate.”
The quick fisted Gesta of San Diego, CA, by way of Cebu, PI, is coming off an impressive eight round shutout in which the Filipino won every round over tough journeyman Christian Favela earlier this year. It was the second time that Gesta defeated the tough Mexican in his career, the first in 2008 also via unanimous decision. Gesta scored two quick knockouts last year over Tijuana’s 2008 Prospect of the Year Alain “Konan” Hernandez in May and in August versus Devarise Crayton. Now he will match skills against Meza who owns wins over Jorge Pimentel and Jorge Paez Jr and has traded leather against up and coming prospect Brandon Rios.
“I don’t know anything about his style. From his record, he is a knockout punch opponent so we will see,” the confident Gesta said. “That is all I know about him.”
It is no secret that the hard hitting Meza will be the toughest opponent for Gesta on paper but mentioned that he is ready to not let this moment in front of a international audience pass him by.
“I still don’t know what I am supposed to do in the fight until I see his style but I will be ready for anything,” he stated. “I hope that people like my performance and I am looking for bigger and better fights so I can show my ability.”
Weigh-In at OK State Capital on May 20
On Thursday, May 20, in Room 104, the Oklahoma State Capital will host the Weigh-In conducted by the Oklahoma State Athletics Commission for the professional boxers fighting the next night, Friday, May 21, at the Cox Convention Center.
The Weigh In, which will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., is open to the public. All boxing fans are invited. Among the fighters you’ll see weigh in are 200 pound, world rated Eric Fields (14-1, 12 KOs), Oklahoma Lightweight Champion Noah Zuhdi (9-1, 9 KOs), and heavyweight Ron “the Iceman” Aubrey (8-2, 8 KOs).
