Back by popular demand, legendary boxing Icon, Emanuel Steward is returning to Texas to conduct a second boxing clinic on October 23, 2010 at the Maple Ave. Boxing Gym, 4020 Maple Ave. Dallas, TX
It’s official, Texas has passed their new hand wrapping rules. His appearance is especially timely, as Texas has passed new hand-wrapping rules for all fights in the state. Steward will cover this important topic in great detail as part of the clinic.
In The Sport of Boxing there is no standardized requirements or certifications for one to become a boxing trainer, manger, or cut man. “The liability factor is great when it comes to the safety of the fighter, this is a serious safety problem in boxing, these clinics are designed to address these issues. This boxing clinic will provide knowledge and insight into what I have learned in the Sport of Boxing.” Says Steward
Steward has been in boxing for over the past fifty plus years, he himself was a former U.S. National Golden Gloves Champion. In 1996 he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, as manager/trainer. He has trained/managed more than 41 World Champions, his work continues today. Presently Steward is training World Heavyweight Champion, Wladimir Klitschko and Jr. Middle Weight World Champions, Miguel Cotto and K9 Bundradge in addition to being HBO’s Expert Boxing Analyst.
”I began these clinics because I want to share my years of experience in around the ring, in addition to my proven winning methods,” Steward says. “I have seen the good and the bad. I have learned valuable lessons, which I want to pass along to those truly interested in the sport.”
Steward’s clinics have become a must-attend event for amateur and professional boxers, trainers, conditioning coaches, officials, MMA enthusiasts, and boxing fans.
“If you have never went to one of Emanuel Steward’s Boxing Clinics, you should beat yourself up. He is a great teacher and teaches details that can make a difference between winning and loosing. He is a guy who has experienced the good and the hard knocks of boxing. He knows more boxing than most people on earth today. I will say this to you, if you really wish to talk boxing and understand the reality of the sport, go see his clinic and thank him for what he has done for the sport and the thousands of kids he has worked with.” Kenny Weldon – Houston, Texas
The clinic runs from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the boxing gym located at 4020 Maple Avenue in Dallas. Registration begins at 10 a.m. The clinic fee is $99 per person; amateur boxers and coaches receive a reduced fee of $45 if they show their USA Boxing Passbook at registration.
