Franco takes on Landeros on 10/22

After a nine month hiatus undefeated Featherweight powerhouse Michael “Lil Warrior” Franco will finally lace up his gloves to face off against Adolfo “El Terror” Landeros (20-15-1,9KO) in a bout scheduled for eight rounds at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in San Diego, California on Friday October 22nd, 2010 . This event will be televised live on the popular Spanish language network Telefutura.

After demolishing former Two-Time WBO World Champion Kermin Guardia last November in Coachella, California, Franco was supposed to face Landeros this past August, but the commission doctors discovered a minor eye injury and pulled the “lil Warrior’ off the contest.

With successful laser surgery behind him and a clean bill of health, the twenty three year old Michael Franco is anxious to get into the ring. “I just want to thank my team, my strength and conditioning coach’s Stan Efferding & Flex Wheeler for keeping me strong throughout my recovery process and my Pops for keeping focused” said Franco who recently opened Warriors Combat Academy, a multi purpose gym located in Rancho Cucamonga, California:” I am looking forward to Oct 22, and fight, its been a long time and i’m ready to go!”

Trained by his father Al, Michael Franco is well known in Southern California gym circles for his hard sparring sessions and willingness to get in with the best fighters available in weight divisions 2 or 3 classes above his own. Traveling far to get good work, Franco could be often seen at the famous Wildcard Gym in Hollywood, California. With the title shot on a horizon and a new gym at their disposal, Team Franco is hoping to be able to hire sparring partners to come to their gym in the future.
