Butler, PA – NESportsTV.com in association with Mintofight.com is proud to present an online PPV broadcast featuring the return of recent cruiserweight title challenger Brian Minto as he takes on Catlettsburg, Kentucky veteran Cory Phelps live Friday October 29th from his hometown of Butler, Pennsylvania. The PPV webcast of the fight, which will feature a full undercard, can be preordered right now at www.NESportsTV.com for $9.99.
In his most recent fight, Minto put up a brave effort while losing to titleholder Marco Huck in his cruiserweight debut last May. Prior to that fight, Minto campaigned exclusively as a heavyweight earning noteworthy wins over former title challenger Axel Schulz, Danny Batchhelder, Billy Zumbrun and Vinnie Maddalone.
The Butler resident decided to move down to cruiserweight after he fought against former heavyweight title challenger Chris Arreola and put up a valiant effort in an all action slugfest before being TKO’d in the 4th round. Outweighed by over 40 pounds in the fight, legendary trainer and HBO commentator Emmanuel Steward said, “Minto’s giving (Arreola) all that he can take and if he was a bigger guy I think that Arreola would be seriously trouble right now.”
ESPN.com’s Dan Rafael credited Minto with, “helping make this one of the better heavyweight fights in ages.” Following the Arreola bout. He also wrote, “Win or lose, both of these guys are must-see TV.”
Now, Minto will take his “must see” style back to NESportsTV.com for his third appearance fighting on the website.
Cory Phelps is a 5 year boxing vet. Notably, he fought to a 6 round draw with two time cruiserweight title challenger Bobby Gunn in 2008. Following that fight, Gunn’s face was a bloody mess and required dozens of stitches due to punishment dished out on him by Phelps.
