Devine back in action on March 19th

Michael “The Real Chunky” Devine last night finalised his preparations under trainer James Paisley ahead of his comeback fight at the massive Goodwin Promotions show at the Goresbrook centre Dagenham on March 19th.

This phenomenal show features three current Champions and promises to be a fantastic evenings boxing.

The all action Devine has notched three quick wins at the start of his pro career before being pitched in at the deep end on his 21st birthday against the vastly more experienced Mark Alexander. Devine suffered a third round stoppage and has since had 11 months out of the ring. Devine explains “ I had contractual issues with previous manager Graham Earl and it is only recently that I have been able to get out of the contract with Graham. I have subsequently signed a management contract with James Paisley and a promotional contract with Steve Goodwin of Goodwin Promotions and I could not be happier.” Devine went on “I think the defeat has taught me a lot. I was probably getting too big for my boots thinking I could blast everyone out. I now know this won’t be the case. Training could not have gone better with James Paisley and you will see a new Michael Devine on the 19th. James and Steve will guide me towards a title shot but they will do it with patience and pick the right fights at the right time for me.”

Devine still awaits details of his opponent for next weeks action packed show which features 14 bouts including a quadruple headline. Local boy Tony “The Conqueror” Conquest (undefeated Cruiserweight prospect), faces off against former Commonwealth title challenger Billy Boyle. Southern Area Cruiserweight Champion Leon Williams boxes in his first International contest agisnt the tough David Vicena from the Czech Republic. Yassine El Maachi the International Masters Light-Middleweight Champion takes on foreign opposition and Pat McAleese returns in an International contest against Spain’s Fran Gonzalez.

There are no less than 10 supporting bouts including unbeaten Woodford Green Michael Norgrove in a 6 round International contest against Jan Balog, International Masters Lightweight champion Ryan Barrett, Devine, former English title challenger Michael Grant, new sensation “Pretty” Ricky Boylan amongst others.
