We all know Wladimir to be a calm, humble, and respectful athlete. Many of his opponents tried to frustrate him in many various ways, but none have done a decent job of it. Wladimir always managed to stay classy and methodical.
This time, with all the stretched out drama and commotion between the two fighters, Wladimir’s self composure and emotional defenses might have been slightly penetrated by Haye.
At a certain point during their sit-down, the conversation made its way to the t-shirt that Haye had made for himself with a picture of him holding Wlad’s severed head. Wladimir claimed this to be below the belt, even as a way of marketing. After a few more back-and-fourths, Max Kellerman asked Wladimir a question, to which Wladimir never replied, sitting quietly trying to hold on to his barely existent smile..
What I would like to know is this: is their drama and hate a marketing strategy, or is there real animosity between Wladimir and David?
If Haye was indeed able to get under Klitschko’s skin, could this possibly produce a completely different Klitschko in their upcoming bout on July 2? Will we see a more aggressive Wladimir?
This must be the biggest heavyweight boxing match since Klitschko vs. Lewis, and I can see it being an entertaining fight thanks to Haye. At the same time, this could turn out to be the kind of fight where Wladimir’s patience is short lived, providing for a very aggressive beginning with a swift and early end.
What were you able to get out of their short conversation? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lDZhnxAwS0)
