King Arthur Abraham (32-3, 26 KOs) will make his hotly-anticipated comeback on January 14 when he takes on Argentina´s Pablo Oscar Natalio Farias in Offenburg, Germany.
“We are looking forward to seeing Arthur back in the ring,” Team Sauerland General Manager Chris Meyer said. “We have found a tough opponent for him. The fight against Farias will be no walk in the park.”
It will be Abraham´s first fight since losing to WBA Super-Middleweight Champion Andre Ward in the semi-finals of the Super Six World Boxing Classic. “I want to put on a good fight for my fans,” King Arthur said. “Of course I have learned from my defeats. But now is the time to look ahead and get ready to fight again. I want to win back the hearts of my fans, and in order to do so, I need a convincing victory. January 14 will be the start of something new for me. I want to begin the new year with an exciting victory and then set my sights on a world title again.”
Farias (19-1, 11 KOs) has never been beaten by knockout or decision. His only loss was a disqualification when he punched after the “break”-command. “We have analysed him on tape,” coach Ulli Wegner said.
“He´s a tough guy with a lot of fighting spirit. He will be difficult to beat. But Arthur knows that he needs to put on a convincing performance. It will be an interesting encounter.” The fight will be contested above the middleweight limit. Tickets are available at www.boxen.com.

Simms re-signs with Advisor; Ready to Make a Major Statement in 2012!
Norwalk, CT (December 6, 2011) – Middleweight contender “Marvelous” Tarvis Simms of Norwalk, CT has come to terms on a contract extension with Advisor Matt Yanofsky.
“I’m happy to re-sign and never second guessed the decision,” stated Simms. “Matt has done a great job for me. He always goes the extra mile and I appreciate him being there for me at all times.”
Simms, 27-1 (11 KO’s), was slated to face rising star Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin on an HBO undercard in July, but withdrew after suffering a serious rib injury in training. After allowing his body to recover, the slick southpaw returned to the gym and has his sights set on challenging the world’s best in 2012.
“The middleweight pretenders have been avoiding me for quite some time,” exclaimed Simms, who’s been a pro since 1997. “I’m looking forward to taking over this division and will gladly facing anybody who believes they can beat me!”
Simms is promoted by New Jersey based Main Events and his return date will be announced shortly.

Wright out Murphy in!
Nigel Wright has had to withdraw from his British Title clash with Ashley Theophane due to medical reasons.
Wright is very disappointed but ensures all his fans that he will be back in the new year challenging for this title.
After a hectic night of searching and many phone calls promotor Frank Maloney has come up with a credible opponent in Ben Murphy, 31, the current Southern Area Champion.
Murphy (8-4-1) holds a win over Gary Buckland the current British Super Featherweight Champion back in 2008.
Murphy said, “I’m in the shape of my life and raring to go Theophane wont know whats hit him come Saturday night.
“ Since winning the Southern Area Title (25/11/2011) I’ve been down the gym training hard for a chance like this and I couldn’t believe it when I got the call and had no hesitation in taking the fight.
“My trainer Johnny Eames told me opportunities like this come around once in a life time, and this is why I must always be prepared.”
Maloney said “ Murphy is in great shape he’s been live in the gym and deserves a crack at the title for his professional approach to boxing and I believe this will make a great fight on Saturday.
“ I feel sorry for Nigel Wright but I don’t think we could of got a more prepared replacement in Ben Murphy.”
Theophane v Murphy will be live on Sky Sports Saturday 10th December at the Peterlee leisure Centre County Durham.
