Andre “Son of God” Ward, received today from World Boxing Council (WBC) President, Jose Sulaiman, the green andgold championship belt that accredits him as the new WBC Super Middleweight World Champion, which won last Saturday December 17 within the SHOWTIME Super Six World Boxing Classic Final, that came to a dramatic conclusion at the historic Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

Ward (25-0, 13 KOs), from Oakland, California, USA, was crowned as the new champion, after having defeated the champion Carl Froch (28-2, 20 KOs) over twelve one-sided rounds, being more faster, busier and landed cleaner, harder punches and did not allow Froch to get anything going.

A desperate Froch came on late, but the result was never in doubt as Ward prevailed by surprisingly close scores of 115-113, 115-113, 118-110.

January 6, 2012 – Lem Satterfield of RingTV.com reports… according to Schaefer, the candidates other than Pacquiao appear to have been narrowed down to RING No. 2-rated lightweight Robert Guerrero, a five-belt winner over the course of three divisions, and RING No. 2-ranked junior middleweight Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, holder of his division’s World Boxing Council (WBC) crown.

Guerrero went on to say, “I’m happy that Floyd Mayweather was able to work out his legal problems, giving him more time to spend with his family. It’s been known that I’ve been seeking a fight with him since he announced his May 5th date at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. I’ve done everything in boxing to garner a mega-fight with Floyd. I’m undefeated in six world title fights, including a championship overseas. Out of those six fights, four of them ended by KO. Also I want to say, If I get this mega fight with Floyd Mayweather, I’m going to donate a sizeable portion of my purse to cancer research.”

Guerrero continued, “Cinco de Mayo is one of the biggest weekends for boxing throughout history. I will represent the Mexican and boxing fans worldwide with honor and pride if Floyd chooses me. Believe me when I say this, I will shock the world and be the first fighter to dethrone Mayweather.”

January 10, 2012 – The 17th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards are set to air this Thursday, January 12, on VH1 and multiple world champion boxer, Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero has been invited. Guerrero will join the red carpet walk with mega-movies stars like Leonardo Dicaprio, George Clooney and Brad Pitt to name a few. Founded in 1995, the BFCA presents its Critics’ Choice Movie Awards each year to honor the finest achievements in filmmaking. A portion of the proceeds from the awards presentation ceremony at the Beverly Hills Hotel is donated to Sean Penn’s J/P HRO Haitian Relief Organization.

“It’s going to be fantastic attending the CCRA because this is one of the biggest events in Hollywood and a predictor to the Oscars. The movie stars that attend this event are the people that bring joy to our lives through movies that we watch with our families. I’m pleased that a portion of the proceeds will go to the J/P HRO Haitian Relief Organization, a charity that Sean Penn founded to help finance and bring the basic needs to the Haitian families struggling after the earthquake of 2010.”

With a potential Floyd Mayweather fight looming, Robert Guerrero continued, “Attending this event is the beginning of a tremendous year for my family and team. We’ve worked so hard over the years and its paying off. Last year I walked the red carpet at Robert Downey Jr.’s American Cinematheque Award Presentation, the 12th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, and now the Choice Movie Awards. I vision myself walking many more red carpets and landing a fight with Floyd Mayweather will enhance my rise to stardom, because I’m going to shock the world and dethrone boxing’s pound for pound champion.
