CAGUAS, PUERTO RICO- Showing in great shape, former tow time world champion, Juan Manuel “Juanma” Lopez, and world ranked Jonathan “Polvo” Oquendo and Jose “Chelo” Gonzalez, were weighed today at 30 days from their March 10 title bouts at the Lopez vs Salido II The Rematch show to be held at the Roberto Clemente coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in a Top Rank presentation in association with PR Best Boxing Promotions and Promociones Zanfer to be televised on Showtime.
Lopez (31-1, 28 KOs), weighed in 143 pounds of a 144.9 pounds maximum by the Puerto Rico Boxing Comission. The Puerto Rican fighter will face Orlando “Siri” Salido (37-11-2, 25 KOs) in the rematch of their April 2011 bout when Salido beat Lopez by TKO in Puerto Rico.
“We are working hard. I’m feeling good, very good”, Lopez said. “This time will be different (against Salido)”.
While, WBO Latino superbantamweight champion Oquendo (22-2, 15 KOs), who is also the #2 ranked by the WBO at 122 pounds, weighed in 137.7 of a 140.3 maximun. Oquendo will face a foe to be announced for his regional title in a 10 rounds fight. Then, WBO Latino lightweight champion Gonzalez (18-0, 13 KOs) weighed in at 152.8 pounds of a 155.25 maximum. Gonzalez, #5 ranked by the WBO in the lightweights, will defend his regional belt against a rival to be determined in a 10 rounds fight.
The co-feature bout of the show presents featherweight world contender Miguel Angel “Mikey” Garcia (27-0, 23 KOs) versus Bernabe Concepcion (34-4-1, 17 KOs).

Petalcorin vs. Morales For UBO World Title
A fourth UBO title fight has been added to the big Thursday Night Fights II extravaganza on April 26 at the Kowloon Bay International Trade & Exhibition Centre in Hong Kong, as Filipinos Randy Petalcorin (16-1, 13 KOs) and Noli Morales (9-1, 3 KOs) will clash for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ World Junior Flyweight title.
Already on the card is Rex Tso vs. Pongpan Patanakan Gym for the Asia Pacific Super Flyweight crown, Lawrence Tauasa vs. TBA for the International Heavyweight title, and Lefoumbou Ngoma vs. Plaisakda Singwancha for the Inter-Continental Light Heavyweight championship.
Randy Petalcorin is only 20 years old, but with thirteen of his sixteen victories coming inside the distance he is a world-class puncher with five title fights already under his belt, and has already won several regional titles since turning professional less than three years ago.
In 2010 Petalcorin won the Philippines Mindanao Boxing Federation and the National Philippines titles, and last year he captured a WBC regional strap and the PABA championship. The fight against fellow countryman Morales will be his first crack at a world title.
A southpaw like Petalcorin, Noli Morales is five years older at 25 and has been a pro since 2007. He won the Philippines national title at Minimumweight in 2010, and suffered his sole defeat the following year when he traveled to Thailand for a World Boxing Council (WBC) regional title-challenge against the 15-0 Wanheng Menayothin, dropping a technical decision after six rounds.
Since the bout in Thailand, which can hardly be considered a major setback, Morales has come back with two victories, winning the Philippines Luzon Professional Boxing Association belt in the process. He will also be entering his first World championship contest.
