London (Feb 13.) Nottingham’s former International Boxing Federation (IBF) world title challenger Jason “2Smooth” Booth is looking forward to making his debut on Channel 5 this Saturday (18th February) when he enters the ring and challenges Sheffield’s Kid Galahad for the WBC International Super Bantamweight title. “I’m really looking forward to making my Channel 5 debut; I wish it had come 5 years earlier.” said Booth.
The 12 round contests will be shown live and exclusive on Channel 5 from 9.55pm.
Booth, who has also held the British and Commonwealth belts and fought for the European title three times in his 44 fight career, was apprehensive at first when he got the call from his manager but after thinking it through he decided to accept the fight. “I was training hard before I got the call from my manager and at first I wasn’t sure whether to take it or not as it was only 4 weeks’ notice, but I was offered a good purse and the opportunity to fight live on Channel 5, so I couldn’t turn it down and it was also a 12 round fight and I like 12 rounder’s.” explained Jason.
“I’ve watched a few of Kid Galahad’s fights, He’s is a good Brendan Ingle fighter who is an awkward switch hitter and he’s known for being an elusive boxer, his team are writing me off, they think he can step up and beat me but I’m quietly confident I can outwit him.
“You also have to question whether Galahad can go the full 12 rounds as he’s only ever completed six.” Added Jason.
Booth, in contrast, has completed the championship course 13 times and as manager Jimmy Gill said: “Titles are won in the last six rounds.”

Terri Blair: Ready for Hallback Rematch March 2!
Terri Blair hasn’t fought since her narrow loss against Victoria Cisneros in March 2010, but don’t let that inactivity fool you. Her training has been consistent, she’s been prepared to fight and the rematch with Chevelle Hallback, she promises, will show her warrior spirit.
“Chevelle Hallback,” Terri said, “you should be prepared for a fight. Because win, lose or draw I go into a fight to fight AND put on a great show for these fans who spend their hard earned money to come out and support their fighters.” Terri’s trainer Abdul Jarvis backs up his fighters words. “We’re going to be ready to go to war with Chevelle in her hometown. She and Chevelle had a great fight last time, This is going to be one of the best women’s boxing matches you will see.”
Chevelle Hallback and Terri Blair are the eight round main event March 2 at the Tampa Bay Convention Center in Tampa, Fl. The entire event, including the weigh-ins on March 1, will be broadcast live on LDLTV and UStream with all the action being called by Billy C of the Talkin’ Boxing with Billy C TV & Radio Programs and former World Lightweight Champion Nate Campbell.
