The big news story from the weigh-in, though, was the slap Chisora unleashed right smack on Klitschko’s face as the two embarked on the customary face-to-face stare-down. Already being referred to as the slap heard around the world, the crazy and unpredictable move on the part of the, well, somewhat crazy and unpredictable Chisora visibly angered the usually mild-mannered Vitali.
As soon as the cheap shot landed smack on the left side of Klitschko’s unsuspecting face, the two had to be pulled apart. Never has Vitali looked so angry. The move on the part of Chisora – who wore a Union Jack scarf over his face during the stare-down – will either have the desired effect of making Vitali angry enough to depart from his usual game-plan of boxing cautiously and making few if any mistakes, or it will merely inspire the defending WBC king to want to administer a slow, steady and savage beating on his disrespectful challenger.
Has Chisora made a huge mistake by slapping Klitschko? Or will the sheer nerve shown by the Londoner serve to unnerve Vitali?
We should be in for some fight tomorrow night!
