Haye revealed on BoxNation and via twitter that when he was asked to do a ringside interview with German Broadcaster RTL, his presence caused a stir with K2 manager, Bernd Boente, how tried to have security eject Haye from ringside. On his official Twitter, David Haye tweeted ‘Whilst ringside doing RTL interview, Bernd Boente (K2 manager) went crazy and called security to have me ejected!! HaHa How sad is he….’ Haye continued ‘I always had a feeling Bernd was to blame for trying to re-negotiate the agreed terms! Seeing Bernd with tears, foaming at mouth was classic!’.
However the presence of Haye at the post fight press conference was were the controversy was ignited. Chisora goading Haye about ‘toegate’ to which he replied about Chisora losing his last three fights. The two fighters went head to head to the surprise of the onlookers a melee occurred between the two fighters and the entourage. Chisora claimed Haye hit him with a bottle, which is unclear on the angle of the camera but it looks like a tripod is thrown in the direction of Chisora. Adam Booth, manger and trainer of David Haye walked away with a cut on his head, how it occurred yet to be discovered. Chisora then amidst the madness made reference to how he will shoot Haye, alongside all that has gone on this comment will lead him into trouble with the British Boxing Board of Control.
Sky Sports, report that Chisora has been withheld by Police at Munich airport and the impacts of his behaviour is unknown at the minute. Whether a heavy fine is put in place or his boxing licence suspended at this moment in time is in limbo. Will Chisora get a rematch with Vitali? In my opinion he will not, Chisora is such a wild character and the Klitschko brothers will stay away from him. Public interest in Britain would suggest a showdown between London rivals Haye v Chisora but again I don’t think this will happen, with Haye maintaining his interest to fight a Klitshcko in the summer. The future of the erratic Londoner is unknown, outside the ring he may be inappropriate but it generates interest for fight fans. His actions are not to be condoned and will receive punishment for them. But in the ring he is an exciting proposition and the world awaits his next step.
