Former WBO world title challenger Michael “Cold Blood” Clark (42-7) dropped an 8 round split decision to Bahodir Mamadjonov (9-0) in a 140 pound WBC USNBC title eliminator at the Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio on Thursday night. A knockdown of Clark from a straight left by Mamadjonov in the final round proved to be the difference. Scores were 76-75 Clark, 76-75 and 77-75 Mamadjonov who is now the mandatory challenger for WBC USNBC champ Robert Frankel (30-11).
Highlighting the undercard, heavyweight John L Smith (10-0), trained by Buster Douglas, won a six round split decision over Jason Massie (7-2). Scores were 59-55 58-56 Smith, and 58-56 for Massie. The show was promoted by Troy Speakman in conjunction with the Arnold Schwarzenegger Sports Festival which runs through March 4.

The card is being promoted by Troy Speakman in conjunction with the Arnold Schwarzenegger Sports Festival which runs from March 1-4.
Only once beaten in his last nine fights, Clark looks to impress in his hometown, while the upset minded Mamadjonov, a native of Uzbekistan, aims to remain unbeaten and build on his recent dominating win over Archie Ray Marquez (12-1). The winner of the bout will become the mandatory challenger for WBC USNBC champ Robert Frankel (30-11).
The undercard is highlighted by heavyweight matchups. Trained by former world champ, James”Buster” Douglas, John L Smith (9-0) will face Jason Massie (7-1) in a six rounder, while Armando Ancona (3-0) meets Levi Bowling (1-0) in a four. Also, in a battle of unbeaten super middleweights Morgan Fitch (4-0) battles Ramone Barber (2-0) in a four rounder.
