Haye Claims Vitali Has Publicly Agreed To Fight Him Next!

By James Slater – According to former WBA heavyweight champ David Haye, speaking via his Twitter account, WBC heavyweight king Vitali Klitschko has agreed to fight “The Hayemaker” in his very next fight.

Haye wrote:

“Vitali has just finally agreed to fight me in a live RTL interview!! He told me I will be his next fight!! Let’s get ready to rumble!!!”

Already a number of web sites have picked up this story and, say what you want about Haye, but he knows how to create a buzz. Haye against the 40-year-old who is maybe, just maybe, ready for the taking (Vitali looked tired and somewhat disorganised in his recent points win over Dereck Chisora; when a shoulder injury no doubt added to the toughness of the fight) could prove to be a very interesting fight indeed. If Haye comes out like he means it (I.E: he fights a totally more positive fight than he did against younger brother Wladimir), and lets his hands go, who knows, he might have a chance.

But no so fast: the fight can only happen if Haye gets the go ahead from the WBC and from the BBB of C. Chisora, as we know, was recently banned indefinitely by the WBC due to his part in the infamous brawl he and Haye had, and maybe Haye too will be banned by the Jose Sulaiman-led group. Haye knows he’d be able to fight in another country even without his licence being granted by the BBB of C, but without the WBC’s approval he will not be able to challenge “Dr. Iron Fist” for his green belt.

Does Haye deserve a fight with Vitali? The former cruiserweight ruler is looking forward to the fight, but he has some way to go yet before he actually gets it.
