Training camp heats up for Floyd Mayweather (42-0, 26 KOs) in Las Vegas and Miguel Cotto (37-2, 30 KOs) in Orlando as they prepare for their May 5 pay-per-view showdown.
Immediately following the debut of episode #2, “Floyd Mayweather: Speaking Out” debuts at 10:30 p.m. Author and academic Michael Eric Dyson goes one-on-one with the undefeated superstar in the half-hour special.
Episode #3 of 24/7 MAYWEATHER/COTTO debuts Saturday, April 28 (9:45-10:15 p.m.), while the finale debuts Friday, May 4 (8:00-8:30 p.m.), the night before the high-stakes super welterweight bout. All four episodes will have multiple replay dates on HBO, and the series is also available on HBO On Demand® and HBO GO®.
“Mayweather vs. Cotto” takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 5 at 9:00 p.m. (ET)/6:00 p.m. (PT), and will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View®.

ADDITIONAL TICKETS OPEN FOR “ONCE AND FOR ALL: HOPKINS VS. DAWSON” AS DEMAND FROM FANS CONTINUES TO BUILD
Atlantic City (April 18)…Due to astronomical demand for tickets for “Once and For All: Hopkins vs. Dawson” at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, nearly 1,300 additional tickets have opened for sale so more fans can experience the intense rivalry between Bernard Hopkins and Chad Dawson in person and see Seth Mitchell and Chazz Witherspoon square off in a heavyweight battle.
Tickets, priced at $300, $200, $100, $50 and $25, are available for purchase at the Boardwalk Hall box office, by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 736-1420 or online at ticketmaster.com.

“Hopkins vs. Dawson: Once And For All,” a 12-round bout for Hopkins’ World Boxing Council (WBC) and Ring Magazine light heavyweight world championships, is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Gary Shaw Productions and sponsored by Corona, AT&T and Caesars Atlantic City. Also featured will be a 12-round heavyweight battle between Seth “Mayhem” Mitchell and “The Gentleman” Chazz Witherspoon for the vacant NABO heavyweight title. The doubleheader will take place at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey and will be televised live on HBO World Championship Boxing® beginning at 10:15 p.m. ET/PT.
Diablo Doesn’t Blame Tarver for Ducking Him
WBC cruiserweight champion Krzysztof “Diablo” Wlodarczyk (46-2, 33 KO) doesn’t blame Antonio “Magic Man” Tarver for stepping around him to take an easier fight.
Despite being offered a shot at Wlodarczyk’s prestigious belt, Tarver (29-6, 20 KO) will instead face the strong, but limited Lateef Kayode on June 2 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.
“I was not surprised by his decision,” said Wlodarczyk. “I said to my promoters, Andrew Wasilewski and Leon Margules, that a fight between Tarver and me will never happen. He is an intelligent guy and knows he has a very small chance of surviving 12 rounds with me. He realizes I’m too strong and too hungry for him. It’s that simple.”
A champion since 2010 with three successful defenses under his belt, Wlodarczyk says he is in a similar position to the one a young Antonio Tarver once found himself.
“I am looking for any of the big names in my division to fight me, kind of like how Antonio used to follow Roy Jones around and accuse him of taking easy fights while avoiding his toughest opponents. The shoe is on the other foot now though. Today, Antonio is an old man, too lazy to make his proper fighting weight, and looking to make money the easiest way possible against the easiest foes. Life is like a circle sometimes. Maybe if I’m between 40 and 50 and still fighting I will someday talk the same bullshit.”
Wlodarczyk says he’s not angry with Tarver, but offers him the following advice: “Good luck Antonio, but if this is how you are going to be, then forget talking about serious fights for serious titles!”
