LAS VEGAS, NEV. (June 6, 2012) – Top Rank announced today that the June 9 Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley world welterweight championship event at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, will be available live on both pay-per-view television and online. The four-bout pay-per-view card, produced and distributed live online by Top Rank for $54.95, boasts interactive features unique to the digital platform through MLBAM’s (MLB Advanced Media) technology. The enhanced and unique viewing offers a four-shot, multi-angle dynamic player that will allow viewers to interact and feel an enriched experience. The live online pay-per-view is exclusive to U.S. viewers.
“This pay-per-view offering will complement our current distribution which appeals to sports fans who are engaged in digital platforms on a daily basis. The response has been so positive when we did this previously, which was for Pacquiao-Mosley and Pacquiao-Marquez III last year we knew there would be an even bigger demand for Pacquiao-Bradley. Sports viewing has entered a new frontier and Top Rank, which has always been at the forefront of integrating new technology to enhance the fans’ experience, will be adding more live digital platforms to future world championship boxing events,” said Todd duBoef, president of Top Rank.
Numerous websites will be offering the Pacquiao vs. Bradley four-bout pay-per-view live, including www.toprank.tv. Select cable and satellite TV systems will also be offering the pay-per-view live stream. Viewers should check with their local providers.
Chris Algieri returns to Oxnard, resumes training with Robert Garcia
RETURNS TO OXNARD TO TRAIN WITH ROBERT GARCIA
June 6, 2012 – New York’s undefeated Junior Welterweight sensation, Chris Algieri (14-0, 7 KOs), has returned to Oxnard, Calif., where he will resume training with Robert Garcia at his academy. After a successful outing in his last fight where he scored a third-round knockout against Winston Mathis, Algieri feels working with Garcia prepares him for the elite level of competition.
“Today was my first day back in the gym and it was nice to see everyone,” said Algieri. “Brandon Rios, Kelly Pavlik, Cecilio Flores and Robert Garcia welcomed me with open arms. The gym atmosphere alone is worth the trip.”
“The sparring I got last time I was here was second to none. Everyone is on a different level out here and it makes for great training. I want to be the best and this is where I need to be if I want to become a world champion. I’m excited to keep improving and show progress in my next fight. It feels good to be back.”
Humberto Romero, who co-manages Algieri with Damian Ramirez, said, “When you have a fighter willing to travel across the country to train with the best, it’s obvious that you have something special on your hands. Damian and I knew when Chris said he wanted to go out to California and train with Garcia that he was serious about taking his career to the next level. I can’t wait to see how he develops out there.”
Chris Algieri is anticipating a big announcement from his promoter Joe DeGuardia of Star Boxing regarding his next bout. A possible TV date could be in the works. For more information please visit www.chrisalgieri.com.
