David Haye Convinced He’ll KO Chisora On Saturday

By James Slater: We had a somewhat enjoyable, if predictable, night of heavyweight boxing last night, and this coming Saturday we will see another heavily-hyped showdown between two premiere big men. David Haye and Dereck Chisora, two men who seem to have genuine dislike for one another, will clash in the much maligned fight that has been given the tagline “Licensed To Thrill.”

Looked at by some as a close, tough fight to call, Haye himself is convinced he will hit way too hard for “Del Boy” and that he will KO him in any round he chooses to. Speaking with Daily Star, “The Hayemaker” predicted a destruction job on the man he brawled with at that Munich press conference back in February of this year..

“I think this fight will be one of my most entertaining,” Haye told the tabloid. “My recent fights haven’t been the most explosive for one reason or another but no doubt about it, this will not go the distance in a million years. I will win by KO definitely and I’m looking forward to entertaining people.

“People are going to be quite surprised from the opening bell. If he’s lucky enough to hear the bell for the end of the first round he will realise ,‘I’ve never been hit this hard before.’ I will knock him out whatever round he wants. I will have to check the odds.”

That last comment by Haye brings back memories of the hot water Haye found himself in after his pathetic fight with Audley Harrison. As fans may recall, Haye said post-fight that he had advised his friends and relatives to bet on his winning on the 3rd-round. Haye insists he never betted on himself, yet it did look as though Haye could have taken out “A-Force” whenever he wanted to. I wonder which round Haye will try to finish the job in on Saturday!?

But Chisora, one tough hombre, is no Audley Harrison. Haye may find himself fighting for his career against his fellow Londoner; and not looking to win in any round of his choosing. Chisora, who has shown his mettle in losing fights with Robert Helenius (a fight Chisora clearly won) and Vitali Klitschko, says Haye is “a cruiserweight.” The younger man by a couple of years, Chisora is convinced Haye lacks the heart to stick with him when the going gets tough.

Haye may well get that KO, yet if he doesn’t, and if the fight reaches the later rounds, a really hard battle could be witnessed. Put it this way: I see a far more competitive heavyweight fight compared to the two bouts we saw last night.
